Ray Dalio, the hedge fund billionaire, warned that a U.S. debt crisis could become reality within the next three years. To prepare, he urged investors to reduce bond holdings and diversify into assets such as gold and Bitcoin.
Bloomberg reported on August 21 that Dalio, in a LinkedIn post, said investors should diversify into countries and assets with strong fiscal health.
He said investors should cut their bond exposure and allocate about 10% to 15% of their portfolios to gold. He also recommended holding some Bitcoin to hedge against risk.
Dalio said that asset-allocation strategy could help defend against deteriorating U.S. fiscal conditions and debt risk. It could also lower risk while improving returns.
