Bitcoin hashprice, a gauge of miner profitability, has surged more than 20% over the past four days.

Odaily reported on Aug. 23 that Bitcoin hashprice rose to $38.29 per PH/s on Aug. 22 from $31.80 per PH/s on Aug. 18, an increase of about 20.4% over the period. A higher hashprice means miners can generate more revenue from equipment with the same computing power.

The Bitcoin network’s total hashrate climbed to about 922 EH/s on Aug. 22, nearing 1 ZH/s. A higher hashrate typically signals tougher competition among miners.

Bitcoin miners earned a combined $682.69 million from block rewards and transaction fees through Aug. 22 this month. Of that total, transaction fee revenue was about $5.14 million.

Total mining revenue reached $875 million last month.
