PeaqOS Integrates World ID for Privacy-Preserving Human Verification on Robots

Autonomous robots and machines can now verify that a user is a real person without collecting personal information such as names or facial data.

Crypto media outlet Newsbitcoinkorea reported on August 24 that PeaqOS has integrated World ID, enabling robots and autonomous machines to verify users directly. The feature has been available through Robotic.sh since August 21.

The integration uses zero-knowledge proof technology, which allows someone to prove a specific condition is met without disclosing the underlying personal data. As a result, users can prove they are real people without giving robots information such as their name or face.

For example, an autonomous delivery robot can request World ID authentication from a user and use a cryptographic proof to confirm the person is real. In cases where a product must be issued only once per person, the system can also check for duplicate claims without storing separate identity information.

The system can also be used for pharmaceutical deliveries. A user verifies through World App at the ordering stage, and the pharmacy completes another verification before loading the medication. The robot then verifies the user again at the delivery destination. After confirming the recipient is the same person linked to the order, it can open its storage compartment.

PeaqOS plans to expand the zero-knowledge-based verification function into areas including decentralized physical infrastructure networks, or DePIN, and autonomous delivery.
