Japan’s SBI Group led the Series C funding round for stablecoin-based neobanking platform Fasset, valuing the company at $1 billion.
Cointelegraph reported on Aug. 24 that Fasset raised $68 million in the round. The company raised $51 million in a Series B round in May, bringing its total funding in 2026 to $119 million.
SBI Holdings said in a separate statement on Aug. 24 that it made an additional investment in Fasset following its May investment. It did not disclose the amount.
SBI plans to increase its stake in Fasset by exercising warrants after the Series C round closes. Fasset will then become an equity-method affiliate of SBI Group.
The companies are also pursuing plans to jointly operate a digital bank in Malaysia and distribute tokens issued by Fasset.
Fasset said it will use the proceeds to expand its proprietary infrastructure, Own Network. The platform connects financial institutions, including banks, payment providers and liquidity providers, across more than 100 banking channels. The company also plans to increase investment in artificial intelligence systems used for stablecoin payments, tokenization and cross-border banking.
