In a Truth Social post on August 25, Trump said he had just received a report from the U.S. Navy that all mines in the strait's international waters had been cleared or blown up.
He said Iran had been informed that any ship or boat laying new mines would be destroyed immediately and systematically. A zero-tolerance policy on mine-laying is being enforced in full, he added.
Trump also said the U.S. Space Force is monitoring the entire Strait of Hormuz. He added that the surveillance also covers Pickaxe Mountain and three other nuclear facilities that have already been destroyed.
