DigitalX, a South Korean crypto exchange, plans to expand its product lineup to include real-world assets, or RWA, and security tokens, or STO. It is also targeting a return to profit next year.
Mirae Asset Group said Aug. 26 that it held an event for DigitalX employees at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul. Mirae Asset Group Chairman and Global Strategy Officer Park Hyeon-joo and DigitalX Chief Executive Officer Oh Se-jin attended.
At the event, Park unveiled the group’s mid- to long-term vision, branded “Mirae Asset 3.0.” The plan calls for expanding DigitalX’s offerings around four pillars: crypto, stablecoins, RWA and STO. It also includes digitizing a broader range of physical assets, including gold, silver and electricity.
Park said DigitalX would be a core pillar of “Mirae Asset 3.0.” He set an initial goal of growing the group’s digital-asset business to 150 trillion won ($108.7 billion) from a base of 1,500 trillion won ($1.09 trillion) in client assets, while reaching profitability in 2027.
He also outlined plans to play a more active role in fostering a blockchain-based on-chain finance ecosystem. That includes identifying new financial products and services using digital assets and strengthening competitiveness through principal investment.
Mirae Asset Group also plans to accelerate development of a “global integrated platform” centered on DigitalX that combines traditional and digital assets. A DigitalX official said the company would strictly comply with relevant regulations and global standards in all areas, including anti-money laundering, know-your-customer and information security.
Park said the group must prepare in advance for new changes with a view to the future. He also urged employees to seek new possibilities continuously rather than remain confined by fixed frameworks.
