Walter Bloomberg reported on August 27 that Mohsen Rezaei, Iran's security chief, told Al-Manar TV that mediating countries had asked for the terms for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and that Tehran is preparing a list.
Rezaei said a key condition is an end to the war in the region. He added that if the US meets Iran's conditions, ships would be allowed to pass through a designated central channel in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran has also agreed with Oman to establish shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz. Part of the route would be in Omani territorial waters, with the rest in Iranian waters.
Separately, Rezaei denied as false allegations that Iran had tried to assassinate a son of US President Donald Trump.
