Bitcoin products were the only segment of the U.S. spot cryptocurrency ETF market to post a large net outflow, while ETFs tied to Ether, XRP, Solana and Hyperliquid continued to draw money.
Data from SoSoValue for Aug. 28 showed U.S. spot crypto ETFs recorded a combined net outflow of $51.11 million that day. The move was driven entirely by spot Bitcoin ETFs, which shed $201.81 million. The outflow ended a nine-trading-day streak of net inflows that began on Aug. 17.
Spot Ether ETFs, by contrast, took in $102.18 million. That extended Ether ETFs' inflow streak to 10 straight trading days. XRP ETFs also attracted $26.2 million, while Solana and Hyperliquid ETFs posted net inflows of $18.08 million and $4.48 million, respectively.
Over the past month, institutional money has remained concentrated in Bitcoin and Ether. Spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $3.27 billion over the past 30 days, while Ether ETFs drew $1.79 billion. Together, the two accounted for 92% of the roughly $5.51 billion in net inflows to spot crypto ETFs.
ETF inflows coincided with gains in major tokens. On Binance's USDT spot market, Bitcoin rose 20.2% to $77,846 on Aug. 28 from $64,780 on July 30. Over the same period, Ether climbed 27.3% to $2,443 from $1,918, while XRP advanced 27.8% to $1.38 from $1.08.

Hyperliquid climbed 44.9% to $80.90 on Aug. 28 from $55.85 on July 30, the biggest gain among the major ETF underlying assets included in the data. Hyperliquid ETFs posted $64.5 million of net inflows over the past 30 days.
Most of the remaining assets also advanced. Over the past 30 days on Binance, Dogecoin rose 20.8%, BNB gained 16.8%, Avalanche added 13.6%, Hedera climbed 11.2%, Polkadot rose 10.5% and Litecoin advanced 8.2%. ETF inflows, however, remained modest relative to those price gains.
