Ray Dalio Says Sanctions on Iran Trading Partners Will Test US Global Influence

Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, said new sanctions targeting countries that trade with Iran will test US global influence.

Cointelegraph reported on Sept. 1 that the expansion of US sanctions on countries trading with Iran puts both Washington’s international influence and the effectiveness of its sanctions tools to a major test, Dalio said.

The move is focused on increasing pressure on countries that maintain economic ties with Iran.

Countries’ responses to the sanctions could become a key variable in shaping future US global influence, he added.
