The FBI has seized $560,000 in cryptocurrency over the past 18 months tied to Hamas financing and money laundering.
Cointelegraph reported on September 3, citing blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, that the FBI tracked a network of crypto wallets believed to have been used for Hamas financing and money laundering.
After tracing fund flows through the wallets, the FBI seized the related cryptocurrency. The total amount confiscated over the 18-month period was $560,000.
Chainalysis said the move stemmed from an analysis of on-chain fund flows that identified a wallet network linked to Hamas.
