Forecast Trend Report by Period

Kalshi’s U.S. web traffic has surged more than 15-fold over the past year, underscoring the prediction market platform’s rapid growth even as scrutiny from regulators and courts intensifies.
Cointelegraph, citing Similarweb data in a Sept. 4 report, said Kalshi recorded 15.4 million U.S. visits in July. That was about 1,520% higher than roughly 1 million visits in August 2025. The U.S. share of Kalshi’s total traffic also climbed during the period, rising to nearly 80% from 72.8%.
Trading volume grew even faster than traffic. Dune Analytics data showed Kalshi’s monthly notional trading volume reached about $40 billion in August, up roughly 4,500% from $874 million a year earlier. Total monthly notional volume for the broader prediction market expanded to $50.7 billion from about $2 billion over the same period, with Kalshi accounting for about 79% of that amount. Barron’s reported that sports event contracts made up 83% of Kalshi’s July volume.
The platform’s legal risks are also mounting. Disputes continue over whether Kalshi’s sports contracts should be subject to federal regulation or state gambling laws, and New Jersey has taken the issue to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Traffic is also rising from countries where Kalshi is prohibited from operating. Visits from Canada totaled about 450,000 in July, up sharply from 50,000 in August 2025, while traffic from the U.K. increased to 296,000 from 31,000 over the same period. Under Kalshi’s terms of service, users in both countries are barred from direct access and trading. Cointelegraph said it sought comment from Kalshi but had not received a response by the time of publication.
