Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty urged U.S. senators to hear directly from cryptocurrency holders ahead of a vote on the CLARITY Act.
Alderoty wrote on X on Sept. 8 that he had personally asked the offices of senators who oppose the CLARITY Act or have yet to decide their position to meet with actual crypto holders.
He said the request was for senators to hear from ordinary people who own digital assets and have their own stories, rather than lobbyists or industry executives. There are about 67 million crypto holders in the U.S., he added.
Those holders should have a chance to make their voices heard because they will be affected by the vote, Alderoty said.
