Users of Korea Investment & Securities Co.'s mobile app can now view virtual-asset price information from Coinone.
Coinone, a South Korean virtual-asset exchange, said Wednesday that it has launched a Virtual Asset Prices service linked to the Korea Investment & Securities app. Users who tap the virtual-asset prices menu in the securities app are taken to a separate service page provided by Coinone.
The service lets users check real-time prices and percentage changes for virtual assets supported for trading on Coinone. It also provides rankings based on five measures: trading value, market capitalization, price gainers, price decliners and popular assets.
Users who select an individual virtual asset can view detailed information including price moves over different periods and liquidity. They can also access project white papers, official websites, key information summaries and virtual-asset guide documents.
The launch marks the second collaboration between Coinone and shareholder Korea Investment & Securities. In July, Coinone introduced a Go Directly to Stock Investing feature in its app that links users to Korea Investment & Securities' stock investment service. The two companies plan to connect their stock and virtual-asset services in both directions to broaden new customer inflows.
The companies are also holding a promotion to mark the launch. Through Sept. 30, users who complete an investor-type survey on the virtual-asset prices page in the Korea Investment & Securities app and enter the issued code during Coinone's new-user registration process will receive virtual assets worth 30,000 won ($22).
Cha Myung-hoon, Coinone's chief executive officer, called it the second linked service launched with Korea Investment & Securities. He added that the company will make it easier for customers to move between the two services and expand its customer base.
