Kristin Smith, head of the Solana Policy Institute, said she still views the chances of the CLARITY Act passing positively, though she is less confident than she was in the spring.
In an interview with Crypto in America on Sept. 9, Smith said she remains upbeat about the bill’s prospects, but her confidence has eased somewhat compared with this spring.
She added that the digital-asset industry tends to think it can steer the legislative process, but that is not the reality.
“The crypto industry tends to think it can control that process,” Smith said. “But in reality, it can’t.”
