Bithumb held a brand experience event for college students at Yonsei University’s festival.
The company said it set up event booths at Yonsei’s Songdo International Campus on Sept. 8 and at its Sinchon campus in Seoul on Sept. 9. At the Songdo campus, the booth operated until 11 p.m., allowing Bithumb to engage with students on site.
The booths featured social media participation events and a promotion for new sign-ups. Visitors who followed Bithumb’s official Instagram account were entered into a drawing for prizes including keycaps, Bitcoin cushions and coin bread. Users who signed up for Bithumb on site received about $51 worth of Bitcoin and a large popcorn.
Bithumb said it will also participate in major university festivals later this month following the Yonsei event. The company plans to attend TROIKA, a joint festival involving Kyung Hee University, the University of Seoul and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, on Sept. 21-22. It also plans to operate booths at Kyung Hee University’s International Campus from Sept. 28-30 and at Dongguk University’s festival from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.
A Bithumb official said the company prepared hands-on programs so college students could naturally engage with virtual assets and related culture. Bithumb said it will continue expanding opportunities to meet younger users directly.
