Ripple Expands Treasury AI GSmart, Strengthening Liquidity and Risk Management

Ripple has expanded GSmart, the artificial intelligence feature embedded in its corporate treasury management platform, Ripple Treasury. The setup allows corporate finance teams to use AI across cash forecasting, liquidity, risk management, reconciliation and reporting, while keeping final decision-making authority with humans.

On Sept. 10, Ripple announced it had added policy-based AI capabilities to GSmart. The tool operates based on companies' actual treasury policies, data and workflows. A separate engine handles financial calculations, while the AI focuses on policy interpretation, anomaly detection and recommendations.

The new functions apply to cash forecasting and planning, liquidity management, risk checks, reconciliation and reporting. Each AI agent monitors workflows and suggests actions. It also cites the internal policy provisions behind each recommendation. Any execution still requires approval from the employee in charge.

The update also includes Knowledge Studio, which sets company-specific policies and control standards, and Analytics Studio, which analyzes treasury data. Within Analytics Studio, users can query treasury data in natural language through Ask GSmart and review related insights.

According to Ripple, 60% of customers currently using GSmart use Risk Insights, a feature that detects unusual exposure patterns and policy violations. Usage of Forecast Insights, which compares projected and actual cash flows to identify potential liquidity shortfalls, stands at 44%.

Ripple plans to use GSmart to strengthen a framework that integrates traditional financial assets and digital assets within a single treasury management environment. The latest update broadens automation and forecasting across corporate treasury operations, following an earlier addition of digital-asset capabilities to Ripple Treasury.
