EastPoint: Seoul 2026, jointly hosted by the Korea Economic Daily, Hankyung Media Group’s digital-asset outlet Bloomingbit, and global venture capital firm Hashed, will be held on Sept. 28 at The Westin Seoul Parnas on Bongeunsa-ro in Seoul. Now in its second year, the private conference brings together companies, financial institutions, government agencies and blockchain founders from South Korea and abroad who are shaping the future of global digital assets.
This year’s speakers include Chetan Karkhanis, a senior vice president at Franklin Templeton, which manages about $1.8 trillion in assets, and Guy Wuollet, a general partner in Andreessen Horowitz’s crypto unit. U.S. policy and regulatory figures scheduled to attend include Harry Jung, a former deputy executive director of the White House Digital Asset Advisory Council; Caroline Pham, former acting chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and now chief executive officer of MoonPay Institutional; and Utah State Senator Kirk Cullimore, the Republican majority leader in the state Senate.
Joseph Lubin, an Ethereum co-founder, and Arthur Hayes, chief investment officer at Maelstrom, will also participate. Representatives from major global digital-asset companies including Tether, Circle, Coinbase, SBI Securities, Ripple and BitGo are also set to attend. From South Korea, Democratic Party lawmakers Ahn Do-geol and Min Byung-deok, as well as Lee Jun-seok of the Reform Party, will take part.
The event will focus on five themes: institutional investment, stablecoins, the onchain migration of capital markets, AI agents and blockchain adoption in everyday life. Organizers will run a main stage alongside closed-door roundtables to discuss policy, investment and business cooperation.
Last year’s conference drew 503 decision-makers from more than 200 institutions. It also hosted more than 50 business meetings and about 40 roundtables. “Establishing a regulatory framework is not the end of the discussion. It is the starting point for thinking together about what kind of market and infrastructure should be built next,” Hashed Chief Executive Officer Kim Seo-jun said. He added that it is important for the people leading policy, capital and technology to gather in one place, share their perspectives and seek practical solutions.
Kim San-ha, chief executive officer of Bloomingbit, said this year’s event is focused on discussing in concrete terms the issues faced on the ground by financial institutions and infrastructure companies. He said he expects it to give decision-makers from South Korea and abroad a venue to explore new financial market structures and opportunities for cooperation.
