Robinhood Chief Executive Officer Vlad Tenev welcomed the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s move to ease regulation on tokenized securities.

BlockBeats reported on September 17 that Tenev, commenting on the SEC’s decision that day to allow limited trading of tokenized stocks on on-chain platforms, said “tokenization is coming to the US market.”

“Thanks to the SEC’s leadership, Americans can finally benefit from tokenization, including instant settlement, 24/7 trading and natively supported fractional trading,” Tenev said.

He added that “today is a good day for American innovation” and that more users will gain access to crypto technology and the broader range of financial innovation built on it.

Earlier on September 17, the SEC announced an “innovation exemption” program that would grant conditional regulatory relief for the next five years to tokenized securities trading platforms that meet certain requirements.
