President Donald Trump said the war with Iran is approaching a critical juncture and that a decision must be made on whether to resume large-scale military operations.

Axios reported on September 17 that Trump said in an interview he is weighing whether to restart large-scale military operations to bring the war to an end.

Trump is scheduled to meet next week with the leaders of six Gulf nations, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly to discuss Iran. Axios said Trump plans to hear directly from countries in the region before deciding on his next response.

The US last month held off on additional strikes after Saudi Arabia and Qatar voiced concerns about possible Iranian retaliation. Trump has not yet made a final decision on whether to resume large-scale military operations, Axios reported.
