Eugene Investment Securities is teaming up with blockchain company BEATOZ to test the use of stablecoins to settle subscription payments for tokenized securities.
According to a Sept. 21 report by Seoul Economic Daily, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding to apply stablecoins to the payment settlement process for tokenized securities subscriptions. They will first conduct a proof of concept.
Tokenized securities currently record holdings and changes in rights on blockchain networks, but subscription payments are still processed through traditional bank accounts. The companies plan to determine whether the entire process — from subscription to payment and settlement — can be handled within a single blockchain-based system using stablecoins.
After the technical test, the two sides plan to review whether stablecoins can be used more broadly across securities operations. They also intend to pursue related infrastructure links and additional cooperation.
Eugene Investment Securities built a tokenized securities platform in 2024 and participated last year in a tokenized securities pilot project run by the Korea Securities Depository. It is also currently part of Hana Financial Group’s won stablecoin consortium.
