Crypto media outlet BlockBeats reported on September 22, citing Japan's Kyodo News and a senior Iranian official, that Tehran had delivered the proposal to Washington. Under the proposal, Iran would reopen the strait promptly if the US indicates it is willing to lift the port blockade and halt military operations near the Strait of Hormuz. The proposal was reportedly delivered to the US through a mediating country.
Iran plans to discuss the proposal with mediator countries on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Earlier, on September 19, Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, presented seven conditions for resuming talks with the US, including lifting the port blockade and unfreezing Iranian assets.
