Phong Le, chief executive officer of Strategy, said JPMorgan Chase & Co. CEO Jamie Dimon likely supports Bitcoin privately despite his public criticism of the cryptocurrency.
Le made the remarks on a podcast, BeInCrypto reported on September 22. “I think Jamie Dimon is a Bitcoin supporter,” Le said. “It seems like he says what he needs to say publicly.” He added that once people learn about and understand Bitcoin, they become supporters.
Le said Strategy aims to play a role in the digital economy similar to JPMorgan’s, though it has no intention of becoming a bank. Instead, the company wants to develop and sell investment products at the center of Bitcoin-based finance.
He also rejected the idea that Bitcoin will replace traditional banks. “Bitcoin will improve the current system, and the U.S. dollar will remain in place,” Le said. “Bitcoin and artificial intelligence are the most important technologies of this century.”
