Patrick Witt, executive director of the White House's digital asset council, said the Trump administration will continue pushing the Clarity Act after the bill failed in a recent procedural vote in the Senate.
The Block reported on September 23 that Witt, speaking at a conference at Georgetown University, said "the future of digital assets is bright" and called it disappointing that the Clarity Act did not pass this time, though he added that there could be another opportunity in the future.
The U.S. Senate voted 49-50 on September 15 in a procedural vote to advance the Clarity Act, falling short of the threshold needed to move the bill forward.
Witt said the current administration would work to provide as much regulatory clarity as possible through policy.
