Bitcoin miner Hut 8 has been selected as the winning bidder for two Texas data centers owned by mining pool Poolin.
The Block reported on Sept. 23 that Hut 8 offered a combined $140 million for the two facilities, about 2.7 times their combined minimum bid price of $52 million.
Poolin announced after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late July that it would sell its Bitcoin mining facilities in Texas.
Poolin's debt totals about $173 million. Of that, about $164 million is related to unsecured IOUs issued to wallet users.
