Launch of 'Bloomingbit Terminal'

Bloomingbit, the Hankyung Media Group's digital-asset news outlet, has unveiled 'Bloomingbit Terminal,' a platform for institutional investors aimed at addressing information asymmetries in digital-asset investing.
Kim San-ha, chief executive of Bloomingbit, introduced the platform on Sept. 28 at EastPoint: Seoul 2026, a private global Web3 conference held at the Westin Seoul Parnas in Seoul's Samseong-dong. Bloomingbit has spent the past five years focused on solving problems for more than 1 million retail investors, Kim said, but found that institutional investors were also grappling with fragmented information, unreliable data and information asymmetries.
Kim cited two main obstacles for institutions entering the digital-asset market: a lack of fundamentals needed for investment decisions and limited access to private information. Unlike stocks, digital assets offer few traditional valuation metrics such as earnings or financial statements, leaving investors more dependent on unstructured information including on-chain data, capital flows, regulatory developments and social media.
Bloomingbit Terminal, unveiled publicly for the first time on Sept. 28, was developed through an exclusive partnership with The Tie, a New York-based digital-asset data company. The platform combines The Tie's global institutional-investor data with Bloomingbit's information on the Korean and broader Asian markets. It is designed to let institutions quickly identify assets and sector-specific capital flows worth tracking, based on data covering about 1,600 digital assets, 5,400 companies and 8,500 investment firms.
The platform also includes real-time information analysis powered by artificial intelligence and an anonymous communications function for institutional investors. Its AI analyzes news, regulatory developments, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings and X in real time to provide information relevant to investment decisions. Unlike general-purpose generative AI tools, it responds using a separate database tailored to institutional investors. It also includes a messenger feature that allows verified institutional investors to exchange views anonymously.
Kim also emphasized the importance of EastPoint. As AI systems read the same online data and summarize the same news, information available on the internet quickly becomes similar, he said. The most important information, he added, comes from meeting decision-makers directly.
Such networks will become even more valuable in the AI era because they provide direct access to decision-makers. That is why EastPoint exists, Kim said.
Kim also pointed to growing institutional participation in South Korea's digital-asset market. Under the Financial Services Commission's roadmap for corporate market participation, about 3,500 listed companies and professional investment firms are set to enter the market. Bloomingbit plans to develop Bloomingbit Terminal into a core information platform for institutional investors in Korea and across Asia.
