Vooy Says AI Agents Are Moving Beyond Answers to Action at EastPoint: Seoul 2026

"AI is moving beyond simply answering questions to actually completing tasks. Just as search shifted from search engines to large language models, service execution will soon shift to AI agents."

Kim Dong-hyun, chief product officer at Vooy, made the remarks on Sept. 28 at EastPoint: Seoul 2026, a global digital-asset private conference held at the Westin Josun Seoul Parnas in Seoul's Samseong-dong.

Vooy is a consumer AI agent service that goes beyond answering user requests to carrying out tasks such as search, reservations, orders and purchases.

Presenting under the theme "The Agentic Era: When AI Moves Beyond Answers to Action," Kim said consumer AI agents would significantly reshape daily life and consumption patterns.

Unlike conventional AI, which requires users to seek it out and ask questions, agents can understand a user's schedule, preferences and past behavior and proactively suggest what needs to be done. The consumer-agent era could bring a shift akin to everyone having a personal assistant, he said.

Vooy said during the keynote that it unveiled its consumer agent product and plans to begin a closed beta later this week. Kim demonstrated features that allow AI to directly handle everyday consumer activities, including restaurant bookings, schedule coordination and personalized recommendations.

"Right now, people open multiple apps on their phones to get things done," Kim said. "In the future, just as search moved to LLMs, execution will move from apps to agents."

He said broader adoption of consumer agents in South Korea will require better infrastructure for identity verification, payments and consumer-service application programming interfaces, or APIs.

"South Korea has well-established identity verification and easy-payment systems, but there are still constraints on agents directly using them with user authorization, and consumer-service APIs are often closed," Kim said. "For agents to actually move consumers' money, infrastructure is needed to clearly define the scope of permitted payments, revocation of authority, whether a task has been completed and liability."

He also said AI agents are poised to spread quickly beyond online activity into payments.

"Just as automated activity has increased in online traffic, a similar shift could emerge in payments," Kim said. "The era when payment transactions generated by agents outnumber those initiated directly by people is closer than many expect."
