Crypto media outlet BeInCrypto reported on Sept. 28 that Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko and developer Anza said they are not rushing a mainnet rollout because Alpenglow has only recently entered public testing.
The Sept. 28 date is believed to have stemmed from the feature activation schedule for Agave v4.3, Solana’s validator client. That schedule, however, does not explicitly mention Alpenglow.
Alpenglow aims to reduce transaction finality to about 150 milliseconds from roughly 12.8 seconds. It remains in the testnet stage, and no specific timeline has been set for a mainnet launch.
