The market capitalization of tokenized stocks has surpassed $3 billion.
According to Binance Research on Oct. 1, the global market capitalization of tokenized stocks topped $3 billion at the end of September. That is more than four times higher than the $700 million recorded in early January. Binance Research said tokenized stocks now account for about 8% of the on-chain real-world asset, or RWA, market.
Trading volume also surged. On-chain transfer volume for tokenized stocks exceeded $100 billion in the third quarter, more than 16 times the roughly $6 billion recorded in the first quarter.
BNB Chain was the most actively traded blockchain for tokenized stocks. As of September, the number of tokenized stock investors on BNB Chain stood at about 1.8 million, accounting for roughly 45% of the total. BNB Chain's market share in tokenized stocks was about 34%.
