The CLARITY Act, a U.S. market-structure bill for digital assets, could be taken up again during the lame-duck session after the midterm elections.

CoinDesk reported on October 5 that former House Financial Services Committee Chairman Patrick McHenry said there is a path to advance the CLARITY Act once the midterms are over and the political cycle has passed.

A lame-duck session refers to the period after the midterm elections and before a new Congress is sworn in, when current lawmakers remain in office.

McHenry added that the issue could be finalized after the midterms, suggesting discussions on the bill could regain momentum after the election.
