The U.S. Treasury will conduct a buyback of long-term Treasuries worth up to $6 billion.
Walter Bloomberg reported on October 7 that the Treasury said it would buy up to $6 billion of Treasuries with maturities of 10 to 20 years on October 1 as part of its liquidity support program.
Under the operation, the Treasury will repurchase outstanding bonds trading in the market. It will review prices submitted by sellers and determine the final purchase amount within the program's cap.
The Treasury recently increased the maximum size of its long-term bond buybacks to $6 billion from $2 billion.
