Michael Dell, chief executive officer of Dell Technologies Inc., said just-in-time production could help cushion the impact on the business even if the artificial intelligence boom loses momentum. He added that memory shortages are set to worsen.

Walter Bloomberg reported on October 16 that Dell said in an interview the just-in-time model could serve as a buffer if growth in the AI industry slows sharply.

Just-in-time production is a method of sourcing components and manufacturing products only when needed. The approach helps reduce inventory burdens and respond to swings in demand.

Dell also said he expects memory shortages to become more severe.
