Ja Rule Named Chair of IPX Celebrity Advisory Board to Help Commercialize Creator-Owned IP

U.S. rapper Ja Rule will lead the celebrity advisory board of intellectual property commercialization platform IPX, helping build a business model that lets creators retain ownership of their work, raise production funding and connect directly with fans.

IPX said on October 28 that it had named Ja Rule chairman of its celebrity advisory board. The Grammy-nominated artist is also listed as an IPX co-founder and founding shareholder.

Ja Rule will help design business structures that allow artists, athletes and creators on the platform to own and retain their intellectual property. He will also provide input on project financing and production models, while helping broaden opportunities for fan participation.

“I’m a creator first, and I’ve seen firsthand what happens when artists don’t own their work,” Ja Rule said. “We’re trying to change the way the industry works so creators can own and protect their IP.”

IPX combines an intellectual property operating system powered by artificial intelligence agents with a blockchain-based project launch platform. The company aims to connect the management of creative works with commercialization and support creators and rights holders as they build businesses around their work.

Brendan McCafferty, IPX founder and chief executive officer, said Ja Rule’s creative vision centers on ownership across music, film, television, live streaming and animation. His view of creators as artists, entrepreneurs and owners aligns with IPX’s direction, McCafferty added.
