MoonPay, a global digital-asset payments and stablecoin infrastructure company, said on October 30 that it signed a memorandum of understanding with NH NongHyup Bank and South Korean fintech company Finger to cooperate on digital-asset-based financial services and infrastructure.
Under the agreement, the three companies will work together to develop global financial services based on digital assets and cooperate in overseas remittances, corporate payments and settlements. They will also explore new services linking digital assets with card merchant payment infrastructure.
The partners will discuss ways to connect global digital-asset infrastructure with South Korea's domestic financial system. They also plan to conduct a joint proof of concept and assess the commercial viability of related services.
MoonPay said it aims to develop a global payment and settlement model by combining its global digital-asset network with NH NongHyup Bank's financial infrastructure and Finger's financial platform technology. Through the effort, it plans to improve payment convenience for customers at home and abroad and expand the use of digital-asset-based financial services.
"Connecting global networks with domestic financial infrastructure is essential to broadening the use of digital-asset-based financial services," said Lee Bugeon, MoonPay's co-founder and head of Asia. He added that MoonPay will link its global digital-asset network with NH NongHyup Bank's financial infrastructure and Finger's financial platform technology to jointly verify the technical and business potential of new service models in overseas remittances and corporate payment and settlement services.
An NH NongHyup Bank official described the agreement as a new starting point for cooperation linking global digital-asset infrastructure with domestic financial services. The official said the partners will combine their expertise and technology to improve customer convenience and strengthen competitiveness in global digital finance.
