Cointelegraph reported on Oct. 30 that Zhao made the remarks to Musk while referencing Binance's earlier investment in Musk's acquisition of Twitter.
Zhao said Binance invested $500 million when Musk acquired Twitter and claimed that the stake is now worth more than $1 billion.
That would be more than double the initial investment. He did not disclose how he calculated the stake's current value.
