Iran said talks with the U.S. could begin in as little as two days if Washington accepts its demands. It also said security in the Strait of Hormuz could be restored.

Odaily, a cryptocurrency media outlet, reported on November 2, citing Xinhua, that the comments were made by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei.

Baghaei said that if the U.S. agrees to implement Iran's demands, related measures could begin within two days. In that case, security in the Strait of Hormuz could be restored and negotiations with Washington could begin.

He said any indirect contact between Iran and the U.S. through a mediator would proceed on the basis of the "seven-day plan" proposed by Iran.

Baghaei added that Iran had shortened the plan's implementation period in a show of good faith, and that whether actual negotiations take place depends on the U.S. willingness and decision.
