Bithumb said on Nov. 6 that it participated in the Economy Zone at the 2026 National Assembly Legislative Expo hosted by South Korea's National Assembly.

Now in its second year, the expo was launched last year to reflect a broader range of public voices directly in the legislative process. This year's event also included, for the first time, a venue for companies to present policy and legislative ideas and gather feedback from the field.

At the expo, Bithumb proposed a legislative idea to add provisions requiring the central government and local governments to provide voice-phishing prevention education. In October, revisions to the Special Act on the Prevention of Telecommunications and Financial Fraud and Refund of Fraud Proceeds expanded the scope of victim assets to include digital assets and extended victim relief procedures to digital-asset exchanges.

Current law requires the government to collect fraud-related information and issue alerts, but it does not explicitly assign responsibility for preventive education. Bithumb said mandating voice-phishing prevention education would help prevent actual losses and submitted its legislative proposal on that basis.

Bithumb also operated a booth titled "How to Respond to Digital-Asset Voice Phishing," built around the themes of prevention, response and trust. The booth featured interactive OX quizzes for visitors on voice-phishing prevention, along with videos showing actual voice-phishing cases and post-incident response measures.

A Bithumb official called the expo a meaningful opportunity to share practical legislative ideas for protecting digital-asset users and communicate directly with citizens. The official added that as safety nets expand, including broader relief for voice-phishing losses involving digital assets, Bithumb will continue to lead efforts to create a safe and sound digital-asset investment environment through robust prevention systems and ongoing guidance.
