The United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has recovered illegal funds amounting to $17.1 billion this year.
According to a report by Cointelegraph on the 5th (local time), the US CFTC focused on enforcement actions related to virtual assets (cryptocurrencies), recovering $2.6 billion in civil monetary penalties (CMP) and $14.5 billion in restitution and disgorgement.
The largest portion was undoubtedly FTX. The restitution and disgorgement from FTX amounted to approximately $12.7 billion, marking the largest compensation sanction in CFTC history.
