Hashed Invests in AI Storytelling Platform Sekai

Blockchain venture capital firm Hashed announced on the 6th that it has invested in the AI-based storytelling platform 'Sekai'.

The seed round investment, led by Hashed, amounted to a total of $3.1 million and included participation from a16z CSX, Azuki, Orange DAO, and Zypsy. Sekai gained significant attention after being selected as the winning project at the Ethereum conference ETHDenver earlier this year.

Sekai helps creators design appealing content in minutes by utilizing generative AI and the programmable IP platform 'Story' blockchain from PIP Labs, which is constrained by the monopolistic market structure of intellectual property (IP). Creators can combine characters, art, background music, and more to create four-panel comic-style stories, which are registered and tokenized on the 'Story' blockchain. This allows creators to protect their IP while remixing and collaborating without special legal barriers or permissions, expanding into a multiplayer IP universe.

Kaiser Kim, CEO of Sekai, stated, "The current large IP monopoly structure ignores the originality of creators," adding, "We support creators in exploring new forms of collaborative storytelling by combining AI and blockchain-protected IP. Sekai's vision is to become a space where the community can collaborate and unleash new creativity."

Baekkyum Kim, partner at Hashed who led the investment, explained, "Sekai is a dynamic and powerful community space that brings people together," adding, "Sekai helps creators connect directly with audiences and distribute content seamlessly."
