The probability that the Federal Reserve (Fed) will cut the benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points (bp) has reached 87.3%.

According to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) FedWatch on the 5th (local time), the probability that the Fed will cut the benchmark interest rate by 25bp at the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on the 18th is 87.3%. This is an increase of 21.3% and 17.3% from a week ago (66%) and the previous day (70%), respectively.

On the other hand, the probability of the Fed keeping the rate unchanged was only 12.7%.
