[Breaking] Lee Jae-myung: 'We will definitely impeach Yoon Suk-yeol, the Republic of Korea's worst risk'

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 7th, "We will definitely impeach Yoon Suk-yeol, who has become the Republic of Korea's worst risk."

Lee made this statement during a Democratic Party lawmakers' protest meeting held at the Rotunda Hall of the National Assembly shortly after the impeachment motion against President Yoon was discarded. He said, "Dear citizens, you must have watched with interest until late, and we apologize for not achieving the desired outcome due to our shortcomings."

He criticized, "The People Power Party is not a democratic party," and added, "The People Power Party is a party of rebellion, a military coup party. The People Power Party is a betrayal party, a criminal party that has betrayed the sovereign people."

He continued, "It is not a responsible party of the Republic of Korea that protects the constitutional order, but rather actively participated in destroying the constitutional order through military rebellion and insurrection, and opposed holding them accountable," adding, "They abandoned the people's aspirations to protect their shallow vested interests."

He also emphasized, "However, we and the people of the Republic of Korea will never give up," and "We will definitely hold them accountable for acts of insurrection and military rebellion and overcome all the chaos in this country."

He concluded, "As you, the people, say, we will not give up. We will definitely win," and promised, "By Christmas and the end of the year, we will surely restore this country to normalcy and give it back to you as a Christmas and year-end gift."

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader, reiterated, "We will immediately push for the impeachment motion against the insurrection leader Yoon Suk-yeol," and "We will steadily pursue impeachment and a special investigation every Saturday."
