[Breaking News] Han Dong-hoon: "President Yoon to be effectively suspended until resignation"

Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, stated on the 7th, "Until the president resigns, he will be effectively suspended from his duties, and the Prime Minister will manage state affairs in consultation with the party to ensure smooth governance."

Han met with reporters at the main building of the National Assembly that day, saying, "As the leader of the ruling party, I am deeply sorry for the situation from the declaration of martial law until today," and added, "The martial law declaration was a clear and serious unconstitutional and illegal situation."

Han said, "That's why I was the first to step forward to stop the martial law, excluded related military officials from their positions, and obtained a de facto resignation promise from the president by entrusting his term and position to the party."

Han stated, "The People Power Party will pursue an orderly resignation of the president to minimize confusion," adding, "There will be no confusion as the president has already agreed to the party's decision regarding his term."

Han emphasized, "We will proceed in the best way for South Korea and the people, ensuring predictability and transparency so that the public does not feel anxious," and added, "We will also consult with the Democratic Party during this process."

He further stated, "Until the president resigns, he will be effectively suspended from his duties, and the Prime Minister will manage state affairs in consultation with the party," adding, "We will also sincerely exchange opinions with the opposition party."
