Bithumb, which operates a domestic cryptocurrency exchange, has been fulfilling the 100% mandatory employment rate for the disabled for three consecutive years. The mandatory employment system for the disabled requires private companies with more than 50 employees to employ at least 3.1% of their total staff as disabled individuals. Bithumb began expanding employment for those with disabilities such as hearing, physical, and brain impairments in 2018.
Bithumb is engaging in warm-hearted practices through employee blood donations. Since 2022, Bithumb employees have participated in quarterly blood donations and donated blood certificates. Last year, they signed a business agreement with the Seoul Southern Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross as a 'Life Sharing Organization Saving Lives through Blood Donation.' This year, they held quarterly blood donation events and donated blood certificates, with about 100 employees voluntarily participating each time.
Bithumb is actively involved in sharing activities that include not only employees but also their families. Earlier this year, they visited households in the Guryong Village area of Gaepo-dong, Seoul, to deliver 19,250 briquettes. They also delivered winter supplies and daily necessities worth 20 million won to the volunteer organization 'Happy People.'
Bithumb's internal volunteer group 'Ddabong' regularly conducts volunteer activities such as dementia prevention for the elderly and volunteering at abandoned dog centers. Recently, the volunteer group collaborated with the second batch of Bithumb's university student supporters 'Sums Up' to create items like mood lights and school supplies for children living in child care facilities.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary last December, Bithumb launched 'Bithumb Nanum' earlier this year by contributing a fund of 10 billion won to solve the difficulties of marginalized neighbors and share love with society. Bithumb Nanum is conducting the 'Hope Lighthouse Project,' which aims to practice the spirit of sharing that Bithumb has been implementing in a more accessible and enjoyable way with the public. Last May, they introduced the convenience store lunchbox product 'Bitcoin Lunchbox' in partnership with Emart24. The project involved donating the same quantity (30,000 units) of lunchboxes sold to vulnerable groups.
In October, they participated in Shinsegae Group's discount event 'SSG Day,' donating 100 won per coupon registrant. Last month, they introduced the second planned lunchbox, the 'Ethereum Staking Lunchbox,' donating part of the sales proceeds to vulnerable groups.
Bithumb is also supporting and contributing to various cultural activities such as sports, arts, and performances through the 'Bithumb Culture Project.'
