"Korean Investors Have High Awareness of Cryptocurrency… Need to Improve Understanding of Web3"

An analysis has shown that Korean investors have a significantly high level of awareness regarding cryptocurrency.
On the 11th (local time), ConsenSys, the developer of MetaMask, along with the international research data analysis group YouGov, released the 'Cryptocurrency and Web3 Survey'. This survey included 1,000 men and women aged 18 to 65 in Korea.
According to the survey, a whopping 94% of Koreans have heard of cryptocurrency, and 61% responded that they understand it.
However, there was also a fear of investing in cryptocurrency. 69% of respondents said they hesitate to invest in cryptocurrency due to market volatility, 44% cited fear of fraud, and 33% mentioned potential regulatory issues as obstacles to investment.
The willingness to invest in cryptocurrency was quite high. Among Korean respondents who are aware of cryptocurrency, 54% have never purchased it, but 37% plan to invest in cryptocurrency within the next 12 months.
Awareness of Web3 and decentralization was considerably lacking. Only 15% of respondents said they were familiar with the concept of Web3, and 31% were well aware of decentralization.
