Woo Won-shik, the Speaker of the National Assembly, stated on the 14th at the National Assembly's plenary session, following the passage of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol, "The National Assembly will faithfully engage in the Constitutional Court's impeachment trial."

Speaker Woo said, "The National Assembly has passed the impeachment motion against President Yoon," adding, "According to constitutional procedures, the Constitutional Court will decide on the president's removal. We will expedite the appointment of vacant Constitutional Court judges."

Speaker Woo remarked, "From the moment martial law was declared until now, the earnestness, courage, and dedication shown by the people for democracy have led to this decision," and urged, "Now, together, let's take one more step forward to the next stage."

Speaker Woo also mentioned, "The National Assembly and the government will work together to ensure that the people's livelihoods and daily lives stabilize quickly and that internal and external concerns in areas such as the economy, diplomacy, and national defense do not escalate," urging government officials to fulfill their duties without wavering. "The National Assembly will also do its utmost to restore external credibility and revive the people's livelihoods," he said.

Meanwhile, the impeachment motion against President Yoon passed with 204 votes in favor, 85 against, 3 abstentions, and 8 invalid votes out of 300 members. As a result, the decision on President Yoon's removal has been transferred from the National Assembly to the Constitutional Court.
