In a public address at the Seoul Government Complex that afternoon, Acting President Han stated, "As the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, I feel a heavy responsibility for the current situation our citizens are facing and the entire process that led to it," he said.
Acting President Han emphasized, "What is most important now is that there should be no gap in state affairs," adding, "The internal and external conditions facing Korea are very challenging. The uncertainty in the economic and trade environment is increasing, and the suffering of ordinary people due to sluggish domestic demand is significant."
He also mentioned, "Concerns about the expansion of downside risks in the economy are growing, and the public's anxiety and concerns about the political situation are very high," and added, "The government will do its utmost to overcome these challenges and minimize the impact on your daily lives. We will establish a firm security posture and manage external trust stably."
Addressing public officials, Acting President Han said, "At this moment, we are faced with the urgent task of normal and stable state management," and added, "It is a critical duty that you and I must undertake together to help the country overcome this crisis. Given the seriousness of the situation, I trust that you will fulfill your responsibilities in your respective positions."
He further emphasized, "Korea has faced many crises, such as the 1997 financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, but each time we have risen stronger. Our people have overcome difficulties with united strength and wisdom," and added, "We will thoroughly adhere to the constitution and laws to ensure that the nation's safety and the people's daily lives are not shaken, and we will strive for stable state management."
