According to Yonhap News, Kwon stated to reporters at the National Assembly that day, "The People Power Party is still the ruling party (to which the president belongs), and the acting president was appointed according to constitutional provisions."
He pointed out, "It is neither right nor appropriate for the Democratic Party to act as if it has become the ruling party or the responsible party for state affairs after the impeachment motion."
Kwon emphasized, "We intend to continue responsible politics as the ruling party through party-government consultations, as we have done so far," and "We will maintain a responsible stance as the ruling party through high-level or working-level party-government consultations until the end of Yoon Suk-yeol's administration."
