On the 20th (local time), Fortune reported, "Sacks did not want to leave Craft Ventures, which he founded, and refused to be appointed as the head of virtual assets."

The AI and virtual assets technology policy work, which Sacks was initially expected to handle, will now be led by Michael Kratsios, who served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) during the first Donald Trump administration. Sacks is expected to take on a role providing policy ideas.
