Summary

  • According to James Butterfill, Trump's virtual asset policies could have a decisive impact on Bitcoin prices.
  • Bitcoin's price could rise to $150,000 by 2025 or fall to $80,000.
  • The value of Bitcoin as a holding asset could reach up to $250,000 if it captures the market value of gold.

There are expectations that the actions of Donald Trump, the President-elect of the United States, will act as a double-edged sword for Bitcoin (BTC).

According to Binance Square on the 1st (local time), James Butterfill, Head of Research at CoinShares, stated, "The direction of Bitcoin's price could change depending on the success of the virtual asset-friendly policies promised by President-elect Trump," and predicted, "By 2025, Bitcoin could soar to $150,000 or fall to $80,000."

However, in the long term, he anticipated that Bitcoin would become a potential competitor to gold. He said, "Bitcoin will account for 25% of the gold market value," and "If that happens, Bitcoin will be traded around $250,000."
