Garanti BBVA, the fifth largest bank in Turkey, is expected to offer virtual asset (cryptocurrency) trading services to its customers.
According to a report by CoinDesk on the 2nd (local time), Garanti BBVA plans to provide virtual asset spot trading services to its customers through a collaboration with Spain's virtual asset exchange Bit2Me, in accordance with the European comprehensive virtual asset regulation MiCA, which came into effect on December 30th.
Abel Peña, Chief Sales Officer of Bit2Me, stated, "With the full implementation of MiCA, many banks across Europe are expected to offer virtual asset spot trading to users. We are in close contact with over 50 financial institutions."
BBVA, as of 2023, is the 43rd largest bank in the world with assets of $857 billion and owns 86% of Garanti BBVA.
