As a new type of scam that implants malicious code after inviting users to a Telegram room is on the rise, caution is advised for virtual asset (cryptocurrency) investors.
On the 3rd (local time), the Web3 security platform Scam Sniffer announced on X, "Recently, scams impersonating influencers and inviting users to fake Telegram rooms are on the rise," adding, "Many users have had their private keys stolen due to sophisticated scams. We advise caution." They further explained, "They impersonate popular virtual asset influencer accounts and comment on the influencer's posts to invite (unsuspecting) investors to Telegram," adding, "As soon as you access the Telegram room, the OfficiaISafeguardBot secretly inserts malicious PowerShell code."
WuBlockchain also shared the photo, stating, "The photo is an example of a Trojan horse attack," and added, "There are too many to delete immediately. Individual caution is necessary."
